The Wateredge buildings were originally fisherman's cottages, dating back to the 17th Century. We try to maintain a sense of this history within our Inn and never forget its heritage; sitting in one of our rooms with the fire crackling and light flickering over the oak beams, you can still get a sense of what life would have been like for these Lakeland folk.

We are all for keeping up traditions, and The Wateredge has been in our family for over 30 years! The Lake District has always been a popular tourist destination, with Wordsworth remarking on its beauty back in the 18th century. Hospitality is in our blood, and our family continues to deliver great service, food and accommodation. 

Having been hit heavily with floods in 2009 and 2015, we took the opportunity to renovate our bar and dining area. Whilst still maintaining many original features
and classic lakeland charm to bring a modern-retro look we are very proud of!
